On the day of my birthday, I attended a hat making workshop. The hats were made of paper napkin, and I had the tremendous pleasure to meet Debra Rapoport ( the hat maker ), as well as the ladies that live or travel through San Miguel de Allende.
The workshop was punctuated with a concept from Debra— the concepts she spoke about resonated with me. The 4 T’s truth, trust, tolerance, tenderness—these were a good reminder of how to treat oneself and others. Then she spoke about the 3C’s—creativity, communication, community.
The atmosphere around making those hats was a true illustration of both these concepts— a full display of the hat-titude was evident!
I love the creativity displayed! It was fun and there was no competition as we marveled at each other’s free expressions. I experienced a great sisterhood feeling that made it heartwarming, and prevented any sort of hat-attack from taking place during the workshop.
