2 days ago I went out with the firm intention to go to the gym, and as I left my home, I felt tired and asked myself, shall I go workout or not? my inner guidance led me to rest.
I then decided to go down Madison Avenue and have a relaxing time with myself while visiting stores at my own leisure.
I allowed myself to go to the stores without any agenda and certainly not in any sort of rush— I reminded myself, I am doing this to rest.
The first store specialized in cashmere products, it intrigued me as everything was manufactured in Scotland and I could feel the excellent quality of the product. I ended up talking to the sales people and it led us to talk about civilization and the word rhythm stuck in my mind...There is a rhythm in all historical moments I thought.
As I continued to walk, I noticed a lot of children’s stores of superb quality (and quite pricey) They evoked the whimsical and there is something endearing about seeing a mini dress and small adorable shoes—it brings out the inner child in me; A playful mood that is so significant in my Milagree collection, like the criss-cross top.
As I continued exploring, I ran into Ann Ahn, a store where I used to sell my clothes and there it was! The owner and her assistant were at the store that day—what luck! I made an appointment, and she booked quite a few of my styles— it all happened effortlessly!
I was welcomed at Anne Fontaine by a lovely hello coming from one of the sales assistants, she had such a genuine smile and I asked what was her recipe for such enthusiasm and joie de vivre? She was born with it. I asked her name and that also stuck with me—Cadence. I thought to myself, after rhythm now cadence...how interesting...let us play universe.
At the Alexander Mcqueen store I heard after Alexander’s death her protégé took over, and I thought how full circle that is ..from protected by him and his brand she is now protecting the brand with her creations.
I was welcomed with a glass of bubbly and black and white macarons in another “ “fancy store” (the name escaped me), and ended up sharing traveling tips with the very well traveled young man. “momondo is it for the savvy traveler” he said!
At Hermes, I am always impressed by their finishing touches—impeccable…I was pleased to hear one sale assistant or manager commenting on how great my Yasmine coat was; I felt validated!
I loved my day and left feeling with so much trust in life. If I only let go of my thoughts and just be in the moment!
